Burger Burners - Custom Branding Irons

Burger Burners are small real branding irons that are used around the barbecue. The Burger Burner is put directly on the coals to heat, and when the hamburgers are done the buns are branded with your own custom brand. 

I started making these when I was running my bicycle repair shop in the 1970s and 80s.  In the winter on California's North Coast, only very hardy folks ride bicycles, those folks are usually pretty good at repairing their own bikes. I was starving.   A bicycle repair shop without customers in the winter soon becomes either a former repair shop or finds something else to do to make money. 

I have a lot of friends in the Cattle and stock business who are very proud of their Ranch's brand.  I soon learned that I could sell enough of these gift branding irons to survive the winter by sending mailings out to registered brand owners. It was a simple mailing that I sent to thirty or so people per week,  offering to make them a regular working stock brand, or the smaller version of their brand as a gift or "Burger Burner".  The working irons did Ok, but the Burger Burners took off. I have made these for registered brand owners in five western states and to non registered brands all over the country.

The price really can vary depending on the design you want to use, but generally run $40 to $80
